"Lay Down Your Weary Tune........ From the Netherlands, Wiersma has his eyes and ears firmly set on that melancholy singer/songwriter genre, perhaps best exemplified by Gene Clark on the “White Light “ album. He sings well and the guitars ripple and swell creating a sound best listened to in a late night fugue........ .........An Old Getaway has its finger fully on the pulse of classic American songwriting with echoes of Townes Van Zandt or Guy Clark. On Hold has a wonderful chiming guitar sound approaching that of the Byrds referencing Bach" AmericanaUK october 2006 |
