About

Paul Russell
Rocky Mountain Americana/Folk
Boulder, CO

Paul Russell plays Rocky Mountain Americana, a music style infused with elements of folk, newgrass, old country, tomfoolery, delta blues and pirates. The lyrics explore themes of love, beauty, mystery, and meaning.

Paul’s music sounds like Keller Williams and the Keels, Elephant Revival, Michael Hedges, Nickel Creek, Taarka, Tim O’Brien, and other new folk/americana acts.

Based in the canyon lands of Colorado, Paul released his debut recording, Back at the Scene of Our Beautiful Crime, in 2011.

Press

“Back at The Scene of Our Beautiful Crime is soft and thoughtful from one track to the next, never lacking that mountain soul.”

Mountain Arts, Music and Culture - Nederland, CO

"...this works wonderfully showcasing a mature, refined songwriter whose attention to detail pays off."

The Marquee - Front Range, CO

Back at the Scene (of Our Beautiful Crime) is how I would expect Leonard Cohen to sound if he traded out the Buddhist monasteries for a few trips to Bonnaroo.

The Scene -  Fort Collins, CO
