About

Andy Vine
Modern Folk
Back in the 1960s Andy Vine was singing in the folk clubs of his native UK. After emigrating to Canada in 1967 he quickly became a well-known part of the folk scene on this side of "the pond". His song "Woman Of Labrador" was recorded by the Newfoundland group Figgy Duff and has since become part of the standard repertoire for east coast singers. Recently the song was picked as one of 50 for The Great Canadian Songbook. These days Andy lives in Vancouver, BC where he enjoys sailing and music. His recent songs have a strong protest flavour as he continues to sing out against injustice and insanity in the world.
