Prolific, talented, and professional, Brenda-Lee's musical journey to success began back in the Pioneer Country Music Club days, where in addition to her songwriting and singing, she was often the preferred drummer for many singers during competitions. She was a Starmaker Finalist in 1994, and a Gympie Muster Grand Finalist
in 1995, performing her original songs.

A move to Australian country music capitol Tamworth proved to be a good one - in addition to her many successful and always entertaining live shows in Tamworth and surrounds, Brenda-Lee won a Tiara in 1999 for her song "Woman At The Wheel", recorded by Shaza Leigh, and which made it into the top 10. Covers by Bobby Cash, Bobby Cash and Smokey Dawson, Irish artist Fergal Flaherty, The Spencer Band, The Wolverines, The Matekis (USA,) The Silverstring Outlaws, and others soon followed. More recently Brenda-Lee's song "So This Is Life" won the prestigious Rudy Brandsma Award in 2007 from the Australian Songwriters Association. Shaza Leigh also had another top 10 in 2007 with one of Brenda-Lee's songs "Fiddler's Creek".
APRA and AMCOS officially acknowledged Brenda-Lee's independent publishing company "Meat Pie Music" this year, and she is currently seeking material from other writers, as well as fielding requests for her new songs.
