Champion fiddlers,multi-instrumentalists, composers and educators,Daniel and Amy Carwile are a dynamic husband and wife musical duo whose personal connection lends poignancy to their music and spark to their performances. Showcasing versatility on fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar, piano and vocals, their broad repertoire of acoustic music includes traditional tunes as well as original compositions stylistically ranging from Celtic and old-time to bluegrass and swing. Seasoned and diverse musicians, their 25 year performing career has found them performing with artists such as Mark O'Connor, Bela Fleck, Alasdair Fraser, The Moody Blues, Martin Hayes, Mike Snider, The Battlefield Band, April Verch, Bobby Hicks, Vassar Clements, Alabama, Kenny & Amamnda Smith, J.D. Crowe, Natalie MacMaster, Buddy Spicher, among others. Competing throughout the country, Amy has garnered fiddle awards in over 10 states and British Columbia. Daniel, U.S. Grand Master and World Series of Fiddling Champion, is also a sought after session musician, recording on Rounder, Rebel and Sugar Hill Records with the likes of Alison Krauss, Sam Bush, Adam Steffey, Alison Brown, John Cowan, Claire Lynch, Barry Bales, Viktor Krauss, Michael English, Jim Hurst, Don Rigsby, Ronnie Bowman, Sammy Shelor, Larry Cordle, and Tim OBrien.

His latest contribution earned him a nomination for Recorded Event of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association and climbed to number 8 on Billboards Bluegrass Chart. Daniel can also be found on Kenny and Amanda Smith's latest project, "Tell Someone" on Rebel Records. Daniel and Amy's latest project, Col Arco, charted at 5 on the Folk Music Charts for August 2007. They are two of the most accomplished musicians I have run across in a long time, said Don Rigsby, head of the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music. Amy and Daniel are masters of their art, added Alex McKinven, who coordinates the Mull of Kintyre Festival in Scotland. Pulsating, heart stopping reels and jigs, their music defies an audience to remain seated--simply exhilarating! When not performing, Daniel and Amy teach private fiddle, violin, mandolin, and guitar lessons, passing along America's rich musical heritage to students of all ages. In tandem with their private instruction, they travel throughout the U.S. and abroad conducting fiddle workshops and master classes in addition to music camps such as Mark O'Connor's Fiddle Camps and String Conferences and the International Fiddle School at Vanderbilt University. From the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee to venues and audiences across the country as well as Canada and the British Isles, Daniel and Amy's unique musical style has been heard far and wide. Whether mesmerizing the audience with a slow harmony or busting bow strings on foot-stomping hoedowns, the Carwiles deliver, straight from the heart.
